While 2022 marks the 35th Anniversary of the Nike Air Max line as a whole, it also represents a milestone for one of the most iconic silhouettes in the series, the Air Max 97. Celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, Nike is set to release many OG styles including this new iteration of the classic “Atlantic Blue” style.
The 2022 edition of the Nike Air Max 97 OG “Atlantic Blue” combines two iconic colorways of the AM 97, “Atlantic Blue” and “Japan.” Both of these original colorways were last seen in 2017, during the 20th Anniversary of the Air Max 97. Combining two-in-one, this pair features an upper split between the two. Atlantic Blue stripes sit atop a black toe, with grey mesh underlays. Volt accents are found via the branding throughout, as well as the visible Max Air cushioning in the midsole. 3M reflective accents and a black-based rubber outsole finish things off.
The Nike Air Max 97 OG Atlantic Blue Voltage Yellow is set to release on April 28th, 2022. It will drop at Nike as well as select retailers worldwide, both online and in-store.
