Sport Red Makes Its Way Onto The Nike Air Max 97

The Nike Air Max 97 “Sport Red” is a reimagining of a classic Air Max 1 colorway, and the result is just as much Air Max 1 as it is Air Max 97 on this specific pair. The entire mudguard is done in tumbled red leather, with the small window of white revealing a stitched Nike Swoosh logo in red thread. The grey wavy lines towards the top of the upper are reflective, with additional grey along the length of the tongue that gives the white round laces a place to loop through.

The rest of the upper is a white mesh underlay and layered strips of white leather, as the remaining hits of the red show on the tongue tag’s Swoosh logo, and on the columns of the full-length Air Max cushioning unit. The white and speckled grey outsole is finally accented with additional hits of red running through the toe and heel of the outsole and on the Swoosh logo.
