March is a massive month for Nike, Air Max fans, and sneakerheads in general as Air Max Day (March 26th) occurs every year. In the lead-up to the made-up holiday, we see a slew of colors across the entire Air Max line release alongside the introduction of new silhouettes with this year’s being the Air Max Pulse. While these new models may be innovative, many still seek out the nostalgia-fueled 90s iterations of the Air Max line. For this March, it seems toggle lacing and metallic silver shades have become a theme for Nike as alongside the Air Max 95 a Nike Air Max 97 Toggle has appeared in “Metallic Silver.”
Dressed in an (almost) identical color palette to the aforementioned AM 95, this Air Max 97 Toggle features wavy metallic silver panels throughout its design broken up by black hits of mesh. Along the midfoot, we see a cutout to the black mesh base with a mini Swoosh embroidered in pink while further branding details continue this pink color scheme. Along the lacing system, we see a toggle lace setup that allows for a quick lace-up-or-lace-down with the laces themselves contrasting the metallic silvers that surround it. Back on the heel sits a nylon pull tab with pink Air Max branding which matches the rest of the pink branding details on the upper. Rounding out the design is the creamy foam midsole with a full-length exposed Air unit visible paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Nike Air Max 97 Toggle Metallic Silver W is set to release on March 16th, 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
