With Nike’s history ingrained with running sneakers, it only makes sense the multi-faceted sportswear brand would continue its innovations within the sport. Unlike their Zoom Fly line which targets hardcore runners, the Air Max line doubles as both a casual sneaker and a training shoe for the everyday consumer. On the heels of the Air Max’s 35th anniversary, official images have emerged on the latest to join the line, the Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer Black White.
Combining the upper of the Flyknit Racer and outsole of the Air Max Pre-Day, the silhouette gets covered in a two-tone black and white, almost Oreo-like knit. Black leather eyestays sit between a black mesh tongue with tonal black laces weaving up to the Nike Flyknit tongue tag. Along the midfoot, a white Nike Swoosh is painted atop the black and white knit, working back near the black collar. Keeping in theme with the black and white color scheme, the insole is blacked out with a white pinwheel Nike Swoosh graphic stamped on at the heel portion. Back on the rear of the sneaker, a black nylon pull tab with white details on its rear is connected to a perforated leather heel overlay. Underfoot, the Air Max Pre-Day midsole keeps the two-tone look alive with the front half coming in white and the heel’s exposed Air Unit surrounded by black rubber. Completing the look is the black rubber outsole with a waffle traction pattern.
The Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer is slated to release in 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
