Blessing the feet of millions of consumers, athletes, and sneakerheads alike, Nike’s Air Max technology saw its debut 35 years ago, spawning a cult following for silhouettes utilizing this tech. Almost yearly, The Swoosh introduces the world to their latest iteration of the Air Max line with 2022 giving us the Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer. With a multitude of colorways revealed so far, one of the cleanest looks has emerged on the hybrid silhouette, coming now in "Pure Platinum."
Combining the upper of the Flyknit Racer and the sole unit of the Air Max Pre-Day, the silhouette takes on a simple two-tone platinum grey and black look. The various knit patterns laid across the upper come in pure platinum with accenting black leather appearing on the eyestays and heel overlay. Running through the aforementioned eyestays is a set of white laces, running up the black mesh tongue to a two-tone black and white “Nike Flyknit” tongue tag. While the Nike Swoosh on the midfoot gets painted in black, the insole carries with it a retro pinwheel Nike Swoosh logo in white. Rounding out the look is a two-tone white and black Air Max Pre-Day midsole with a visible Air Unit on the heel paired with a black rubber outsole featuring white speckles splattered throughout.
The Nike Air Max Flyknit Racer Pure Platinum is slated to release on July 30th, 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
