While the Nike Air Max Plus may not be as popular in the US as overseas, it still has a solid cult following. The Sean McDowell-designed silhouette debuted in 1998 as a Foot Locker exclusive and introduced Tuned Air (TN). 25+ years later, the Air Max Plus is one of the most recognized sneakers ever, whether you mess with them or not. For Spring 2025, Nike is giving the TN an iridescent makeover.
The Nike Air Max Plus Holographic edition ditches traditional sky-themed graphics for a new take on the silhouette. The entire upper showcases an iridescent, holographic design similar to the Nike Air Foamposite One Hologram from 2015. A shiny, dark grey base emits multi-color detailing that changes as the light hits it. White accents the eyelets, laces, and liner, breaking up the dull tone. Max Air cushioning is visible throughout the white midsole via traditional window cutouts. Blue hits are seen via the Swoosh on the sides, tongue tag branding, and insole graphics. 3M reflective stripes down the tongue and a solid rubber outsole complete the look.
The Nike Air Max Plus Holographic will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $180.
