The Nike Air Max Portal Debuts July 2024

When you think of Nike, one of the first thoughts that comes to mind is Air cushioning. This revolutionary cushioning tech, which debuted over 45 years ago, continues to be a cornerstone of Nike's innovation. This year, Nike introduced the next generation of Air Max with the Dynamic Air unit in the Air Max DN. While we anticipate even more advancements in this technology, Nike occasionally takes a nostalgic turn, integrating its iconic Air-tech into retro-inspired designs. The upcoming Air Max Portal silhouette embodies this blend of innovation and retro charm.

The Nike Air Max Portal draws inspiration from early 2000s runners, featuring a clean and straightforward construction. The sneaker's base is crafted from breathable mesh, ensuring comfort and ventilation. A leather panel runs along the sneaker's profile, extending back to the heel, adding a touch of premium style. Wavy stitching patterns adorn the upper, giving it a dynamic and modern look. Mini Swoosh logos are strategically placed on the midfoot, heel, and vamp, adding subtle branding touches. Underfoot, the sneaker boasts an oversized foam midsole with a shank in the midfoot for added support and stability and a visible Air unit in the heel, delivering the classic Air cushioning experience. All this comes paired with a grippy rubber outsole for enhanced traction.

The Nike Air Max Portal will debut in three colorways on July 11, 2024, while the rest of the pairs will release throughout the Fall 2024 season. Expect a release through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
