The Nike Air Max Scorpion has been making quite a splash. From the minty fresh "Olive Aura" to the special "Chinese New Year" edition, the chunky silhouette is getting more and more popular by the minute. With that said, even though we've seen quite a few cool colorways get announced over the past few months, we've never seen anything quite like the Nike Air Max Scorpion Gaiter "Sail." Making every gorpcore enthusiast gasp with delight, this particular pair has a secret hidden up its very long sleeve.
The Air Max Scorpion itself is outfitted in a crisp taupe and beige Flyknit construction that bears a striking resemblance to the Air VaporMax. A chromed out Swoosh shoots through the lateral and medial sidewalls, while buttery suede wraps around the mudguards for a premium look and feel. None of these materials react particularly well with water, so to keep it all dry Nike has added a sleeve that is quite literally a rain jacket for your feet. Decked out in a waterproof nylon material, it's fitted with a series of straps and buttons to keep it locked down, and the cover extends way past the wearer's knee area for the ultimate protection. All of this sits on top of an extra thick Max Air midsole that quite literally takes your comfort and cushioning levels to new heights.
While this concept looks quite new, Nike actually executed a similar idea back in 2019 as part of its ISPA line. With that said, if you didn't manage to secure that pair back in the day, the Nike Air Max Scorpion Gaiter Sail is set to release sometime in 2023 in men's sizes with a retail price yet TBA. Expected to drop at Nike, the SNKRS app, and select stockists worldwide, make sure you follow us on Twitter and download ourMobile App for your best chance to cop.
