The Nike Be True To Your School series began in the 80s with the Dunk. Each color of the Dunk represented a specific college, such as Syracuse or Kentucky. Since then, the BTTYS series has evolved to feature other silhouettes and represent colleges outside the original batch. It has even crossed over to skateboarding with the Nike SB Dunk. In 2023, Nike began to bring out various Dunk Lows in BTTYS-style colorblocking, such as the Reverse Brazil and Clear Jade, expanding on its original design premise. For Spring 2024, Nike Basketball is giving a nod to the ladies of sport with the Be True To Her School series.
The Nike Air More Uptempo is one of the first pairs set to be released in this new collection. Coming in black, white, and university gold, the Nike Air More Uptempo Be True To Her School edition sports an all-leather upper. Black covers most of the sneaker, which is highlighted by university gold accents on the branding, the AIR on the sides, and the visible Max Air cushioning in the heel. Helping to break up the two-tone black and yellow color combo is white, highlighting the laces, underlays of the AIR branding, and the midsole/outsole. Be True To Her School branding on the insoles ties everything together.
