Themed releases for holidays have been a mainstay in sneaker culture for decades, especially at Nike. For next years Valentine’s Day, The Swoosh has a trio of silhouettes that are getting hit by cupids arrow including the Nike Dunk Low, Nike Air Trainer 1, and the Nike Air More Uptempo. Already having first looks from a leaked internal document, we’re now getting official images of the Nike Air More Uptempo “Valentine’s Day.”
As if it came out of a box of chocolate, the Air More Uptempo is covered almost entirely in chocolate brown throughout its nubuck and mesh construction while accenting pink details can be seen throughout. Around the toe, a double-stacked mudguard comes with an embroidered Nike Swoosh in its center, stitched on with pink threads around its edge. This same trimming detail also appears on the iconic “AIR” overlays along the profile with pink suede surrounding the chocolate brown nubuck letters. Underneath this sits another chocolate brown panel, this time perforated nubuck that acts as the base layer for the majority of the upper. Working over to the tongue, mesh, nylon, and nubuck appear all in the monochromatic brown shade seen throughout, matching the lace set and bungee pull tabs up top and on the heel. For our final hit of Nike branding on the upper, the heel hosts a cutout Swoosh that is filled in with the same pink suede seen trimming the "AIR" overlay. Underfoot, the Air More Uptempo sole unit comes in a similar chocolate brown as the upper with exposed Air units throughout while the rubber outsole matches this, completing the look.
The Nike Air More Uptempo Valentine’s Day is set to release on February 7th, 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
