Nike Golf continues to innovate, reimagining the classic Nike Air Pegasus 89 for the green. Scheduled to release just in time for the Phoenix Open in February 2024, sponsored by Waste Management, this unique rendition of the Air Pegasus 89 brings a novel "trash" theme to the silhouette.
The Nike Air Pegasus 89 Golf Phoenix Open takes a striking stand with its innovative "trashy" aesthetic. The upper showcases crinkled leather overlays at the mudguard and heel, symbolizing discarded materials, while clear blue TPU adorns the vamp, eyestays, and collar overlay, adding a modern twist. Underneath lies a layer of ripstop nylon, partially revealing a vivid graphic of trash, emphasizing the shoe's theme.
Accent stitching in vibrant pink frays and loosens around the upper, further enhancing the trash-inspired look. This deliberate imperfection in the stitching adds a raw, unpolished charm to the design, aligning with the theme of reusing and repurposing materials. Nike branding on the tongue and insole cleverly ties into the theme, featuring the phrase "Take out the trash." The sockliner and outsole continue the narrative, adorned with the same trash graphic on the upper.
The Nike Air Pegasus 89 Golf Phoenix Open will release on February 7, 2024, through Nike and select Nike Golf retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
