Originally designed by Tinker Hatfield and released in 1987, the Nike Air Trainer 1 gave birth to a whole new sports training category, the cross trainer. Worn by athletes such as Bo Jackson and John McEnroe, the Trainer 1 cemented its legacy instantly. While the shoe has been re-released various times throughout the years, the original “Chlorophyll” colorway still remains highly coveted. Fresh for its 35th Anniversary, these classic trainers are coming back in true OG form.
Last seen in SB form in 2020, the Nike Air Trainer 1 Mid “Chlorophyll” gets adapted by Nike Sportswear in 2022. It comes in its original white, black and medium grey colorway. Featuring white leather underlays and grey suede overlays. Black details are found via the Swoosh on the sides, midfoot strap and piping above the midsole. Classic chlorophyll green accents the top eyelets and branding throughout while a white Air cushioned sole finishes things off.
The Nike Air Trainer 1 Chlorophyll is set to release on March 22nd oversees followed by a worldwide release date on May 20th, 2022. It will drop at Nike as well as select Nike Sportswear retailers both in-store and online. Coming in men’s sizes, retail is set at $120 and each pair comes in OG style packaging.
