When it comes to innovation of basketball technology, The Swoosh is leading the pack thanks to silhouettes like the recently revealed Air Zoom GT Cut 2. Taking the pros of the original GT Cut and utilizing player feedback as well as technical data, major improvements appear in this second iteration. Already seen in the classic “Bred” colorway, the model has appeared in clean white shades with multicolor hits, being dubbed “Awaken.”
Engineered knit takes over the upper in a white shade while just below, a sky-like design of blue and white is slightly visible. Running up the white neoprene tongue is a set of white flat laces that reach just below the Zoom GT Cut 2 logo, also appearing in a stark white shade. Moving back along the midfoot you’ll find even more white hits thanks to the Nike Swoosh and the large plastic heel counter that stretches just below this branding detail. For our first hit of vibrant color, blue and red break up the transition from this aforementioned heel counter to the white foam midsole. Encased between this and the yellow, red, and blue rubber outsole is a full-length Zoom Strobel unit, making this one of the most comfortable, yet responsive basketball silhouette on the market.
The Nike Air Zoom GT Cut 2 Awaken is set to release on October 7th, 2022 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $170.
