Two Nike Air Zoom Spiridion OG Colorways Join Nike’s Cult Classic Collection
Updated on •PublishedDie-hard sneakerheads may not make up most of Nike’s consumer base, but there is always a soft spot for those who appreciate the brand's history. Over the last decade-plus, we’ve been rewarded for this appreciation through various retro releases, but Nike decided to market these returns under the Cult Classics banner starting last year. After a slew of classic and archival Dunk Lows, AF1s, Air 180s, Air Max 90s, and more released in 2024, the Cult Classics line is returning for the new year, starting with two OG Nike Air Zoom Spiridon colorways.
After being in the vault since 2018, the Chrisitan Tresser-designed Air Zoom Spiridon formally returned through a retro of the OG OG Sport Red colorway and a collaborative effort with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s fragment design on two different colorways of the sneaker. These original colors, Signal Blue and Metallic Silver Signal Blue dropped back in 1997 when the model first hit the market. They previously returned when the model had its retro run in 2017 for the sneaker's 20th anniversary. Both come with the same colorblocking and construction from their OG release, combining synthetics and mesh overlays alongside a metallic silver Swoosh on the midfoot.
Splitting the upper in half is a heavy-duty canvas, which comes in black on the Signal Blue colorway and white on the Metallic Silver Signal Blue rendition. Alongside the metallic midfoot Swoosh, both pairs come with a mini Swoosh embroidered near the toe and feature 3M details on the piping of the upper and the pull tab on the heel. Down below, both feature a white Zoom Air-cushioned Spiridion midsole paired with a black rubber outsole that acts as the Zoom Air unit.
The Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Signal Blue will release on March 13, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. The Metallic Silver Signal Blue pair will release on February 13, 2025. Available in men’s sizing, each pair is priced at $160. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
