As part of its shift in strategy, Nike is scaling back on some of its current retro staples, like the Air Force 1, Dunk, and Jordan 1, in favor of innovating on new designs and bringing back long-lost gems. One such revival is the Nike Aqua Turf, a versatile early '90s model initially part of the Nike ACG (All Conditions Gear) line, designed to be worn in and around water. Brendan Dunne of Complex first reported news of the Aqua Turf's return.
The upcoming release of the Nike Aqua Turf includes six colorways, each maintaining the silhouette's original neoprene and mesh construction. The upper features a large mesh panel extending from the toe and covering most of the model, providing breathability and comfort. The neoprene bootie enhances the design, offering a snug fit around the collar and forefoot. Nike branding is subtly placed on the lateral and medial heel, staying true to the minimalist aesthetics of the original design. Underfoot, an EVA-cushioned foam midsole and outsole ensure the Aqua Turf delivers comfort and durability, making it perfect for urban exploration and outdoor adventures.
The Nike Aqua Turf will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s and women's sizing, the retail price is set at $65.
