This past weekend, Phoenix, Arizona, became a mecca for basketball as the WNBA All-Star Game took center stage. The event, which gathers the top talents in women’s basketball, also provided a platform for brands like Nike to showcase their latest performance basketball sneakers. Among the highlights, which included Jonquel Jones debuting her KD 17 PE, was a special iteration of Devin Booker’s Nike Book 1, reimagined specifically for the WNBA All-Star Game.
Coming with an ultra-premium construction similar to the 1/500 Clay Orange colorway, the Nike Book 1 WNBA PE features suede details with intricate snakeskin textures debossed into various panels. These luxurious materials cover the mudguard, eyestays, collar, and heel; all bathed in a deep, rich blue shade. Volt green accents are found on the plastic eyelet and the 96 text on the heel tab, adding a pop of contrast. The midfoot features a workwear-inspired canvas twill material, maintaining the cohesive blue hue, while the Swoosh is rendered in a sleek black. The sneaker sits atop a brown rubber midsole and outsole, offering style and durability.
The Nike Book 1 WNBA PE will not be available to the public, but we have plenty of new releases of the sneaker to look forward to. Next is the Python colorway in September, and in 2025, we’ll have an opportunity to grab the Forrest Gump Cortez-inspired colorway.
