Nike's foray into the foam-based slip-on segment has seen a steady expansion with the introduction of the Calm series. Although joining the trend later, Nike has diversified its offerings within this line. The series, which includes the Calm Slide, Calm Mule, and Calm Flip Flop, is now set to welcome its latest addition – the Nike Calm Sandal.
The Nike Calm Sandal presents a fresh take on the casual footwear genre. Akin to sandals like the ACG Air Deshutz, the design features webbing straps that ensure a secure fit. Its padded lockdown feature on the top portion sets the Calm Sandal apart, complemented by a Velcro strap for adjustable comfort and a snug fit. Unlike its predecessors in the Calm series, the Calm Sandal boasts more prominent Nike branding. The heel is adorned with a bold 3D Nike logo, while the footbed and lockdown strap are embellished with the iconic Swoosh logos, adding a touch of athletic elegance to the design.
Comfort remains a cornerstone of the Calm Sandal, featuring the same EVA foam used in other Calm models. This foam ensures a cushioned and comfortable experience with every step. The sandal's outsole borrows from the AF1 Flyknit, providing durability and grip, suitable for various terrains. As for its initial launch, the Calm Sandal will be available in three striking colorways: Hyper Pink, Light Bone, and Black, catering to diverse style preferences.
The Nike Calm Sandal is set to release in Summer 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in women's sizing, the retail price is set at $80.
