The Nike Cortez has been a predominant silhouette throughout Nike’s history. One of Nike’s first athletic shoes, it features a simple and clean leather construction. With collaborators like Union and CLOT counted as fans, it’s no surprise that Nike has tapped the Cortez once again for its floral “All Petals Collection”.
Nike starts out classic with a smooth white leather base hugging most of the upper's sidewall. Suede panels in sail emerge on the toe, lower heel, and eyestay — each outlined by fir green suede. The Swoosh also appears in sail suede with the same green outline, but it's enriched with a texture calling to mind a brick path. Fir green reveals itself once again on the mustache, which sees Nike logo stitched in a faded red. The midsole employs the same sail and fir green theme, ending with a matching sail outsole.
More intriguing features for this Cortez rendition include the rose graphic on the tongue tag and a lace shroud commonly found on golf shoes. Colorful pins are attached to the shroud ranging, including ones that read “Just Do It” and “All Petals Collection.” Rounding out the theme is an“All Petals United” patch sewn into the insole.
The Nike Cortez “All Petals United” is set to release July 27 through Nike and select retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Releasing in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
