Each year, Nike as a whole celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community during the month of June. Their “BETRUE” Collection has continued to be one of their most anticipated capsules on an annual basis, with 2022 being no exception. While we have seen an SB Dunk Low as a part of this year's set, the classic Nike Cortez has joined the lineup as well.
Coming in summit white, multi-color, and black, the Nike Cortez BETRUE sports a traditional design, with the details being the star of the show. A traditional leather underlay is paired with suede overlays to make out the upper of this pair. A multi-color overlapping Swoosh is stitched on the sides in a rainbow-like design. Each Swoosh is embroidered in a flowing, wave deco design, as seen on the back heel “Nike” branding as well.
Rainbow gradient-like color fading is found wrapping around the heel of the midsole, as well as the custom printed insoles. BETRUE branding is prominently displayed via the tongue tag and aforementioned insoles, with an accompanying carabiner. Multiple sets of laces give you plenty of options to choose from. Finishing things off for the Nike Cortez BETRUE is the special packaging.
The Nike Cortez BETRUE 2022 was originally set release on June 22nd, 2022. After a slight delay, it will now release on July 12th. It will drop at Nike, as well as select retailers worldwide, both online and in-store. Coming in full-family sizing, retail is set at $90 for men.
