Even though the legendary Nike Cortez celebrated its massive 50th anniversary last year, the Air Force 1's 40th birthday kind of overshadowed it. With that said, the Beaverton-based sportswear giant will giving the half-a-century-old icon its own party in 2023 with a vast range of special edition colorways and hyped partnerships. After checking out the Edison Chen's CLOT collaboration and the "Running Rabbit" earlier this season, we're now taking our very first look at the Nike Cortez "Sail Gorge Green." A palette that looks like it has been swiped straight out of the archives, make sure you read on to find out everything that we know so far.
Even though the Cortez is over five decades old, its design has remained pretty much identical to the OG. Spotted here with a smooth sail leather construction, lush gorge green Swooshes shoots through the lateral and medial sidewalls, while a dash of team orange decorates the tongue tag for that classic look that we all know and love. Shifting your focus down below, you'll find malachite accents that perfectly complement the rest of the shoe, and the midsole is dipped in a creamy coconut milk hue for a design that looks like it has been taken from the early '70s. This unit is finished off with the Cortez's signature toothy outsole, placing the finishing touches on the old school silhouette.
Releasing exclusively in women's sizes on May 3rd, 2023, the Nike Cortez Sail Gorge Green W will be available via Nike, the SNKRS app, and select retailers with a retail price of $85.
