The Nike Cortez Vintage Black Sail is premium, and it stands out aesthetically. The majority of the upper is covered in black hairy suede. This kind of suede is crafted by sanding or rubbing the inside layer of the leather. The result of the process is evident by the length and quality, which looks shaggy and raised.
Breaking up the dark theme are sail accents via the leather Swoosh on the sides and back heel, laces, and nylon tongue. A splash of orange is seen via the Nike Swoosh behind the cursive script on the tongue tag, as well as the insoles. A sail-colored foam midsole with a black stripe running across the back heel is finished off by a coconut milk-colored herringbone outsole.
