Dating back to the mid-1980s, the Nike Dunk will forever be tied to NCAA athletic programs, as is the case with the entire Be True To Your School campaign that helped market the basketball-ready silhouettes. With Nike creating plenty of HBCU Dunk colorways that should see a release by the end of the year, more collegiate-like colorways are headed our way. Though not connected to a specific school, the upcoming Nike Dunk High University Gold Black screams college colorway.
Taking on a two-tone construction across the entire upper, the classic smooth leather construction is utilized. On the perforated toebox, midfoot panel, and collar sits a university gold leather, contrasting nicely with the black overlays located on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay. More university gold hits come in the form of the mesh tongue and flat cotton laces that work to the habanero red Nike branded tongue tag. This same bright red shade sits on the insole, surrounded by a black sockliner. Along the midfoot, a black Nike Swoosh runs back to the black leather pull-tab located on the heel. Underfoot, the classic Dunk midsole is given a neutral white makeover with its rubber outsole below taking on an all-black look.
The Nike Dunk High University Gold Black is slated to release during Holiday 2022 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $125.
