The Nike Dunk Low Faded Paint Goes All-Out With The Pre-Aged Aesthetic
Thanks to brands like Balenciaga and Gucci, the pre-aged aesthetic has quickly become one of the most controversial sneaker trends of all-time. The act of creating something brand new and making it look hella old seems somewhat counter-productive, but for some releases, like last year's Air Jordan 1 High OG "Lost & Found," it works impeccably well. Now, the Beaverton-based sportswear company is set to give one of its most popular basketball shoes the pre-worn treatment with the upcoming Nike Dunk Low Faded Paint "Laser Orange Midnight Navy," and here's everything that we know so far.
If you squint your eyes, this sneaker looks extremely similar to the SB Dunk Low of the same name from 2020. Working on top of a crisp white leather base, a midnight navy Swoosh shoots through the laterals and medials with a tumbled texture, with complementary tones making their way to the tongue tag and heel badge. Laser orange overlays wrap around the entire shoe, but these have all been worn, torn, and scuffed straight out of the box, giving them a very vintage vibe. This thrifted effect extends all the way towards the custom insoles, which look like they've seen better days themselves.
While the Nike Dunk Low Faded Paint Laser Orange Midnight Navy might not be for everyone, if you want something a little different in your collection then you should probably listen up. Set to release sometime in 2023, it will drop in men's sizes at Nike, the SNKRS app, and at select retailers in-store and online with a retail price of $110. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App for your best chance to cop, and if you're looking for a more in-depth breakdown of the Dunk, check out our Nike Dunk Buyers Guide!
