Nike’s Dunk Low has been a favorite of sneakerheads for decades, though recent years have seen the popularity explode. Countless colorways and collaborations have been released. However, none have been as famous as the black/white colorway we all know as the "Panda." Riffing off a member of the panda family, Brendan Dunne of Complex has revealed Nike is taking that iconic colorway to the next level with the Nike Dunk Low “Red Panda,” a sneaker that seems to be paying homage to the endangered animal.
Unlike the all-leather build of the “Panda” colorway, this “Red Panda” features black suede underlays with matte leather overlays near the toe and eyestays. Around the mudguard, eyestays, and Swoosh sits a light tan color. Red accents can be found on the tongue tag and heel tab, while the Nike text on both is in an orange/red hue similar to the reddish fur on the real-life Red Panda. Further accenting hits of red make their mark on the heel overlay which comes in a suede finish, though not as rough as the underlays. Rounding out the design is the black midsole and tonal outsole.
The Nike Dunk Low Red Panda will release on October 27, 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $125.
