Nike has given us hundreds of Dunk Low colorways in recent memory. So many that some may be tired of the same two-tone all-leather construction. While those draw inspiration from the original BTTYS collection, The Swoosh also offers plenty of themed releases that feature playful takes on the model. For its latest entry into the Dunk family, Nike gives the kids an exclusive colorway featuring color-changing details, dubbed the Nike Dunk Low “UV Light."
Seen in a combination of photon dust, midnight navy, blue tint, and white across its upper, the silhouette features a tumbled leather finish to its overlays and underlays. Grey-hued leather wraps around the mudguard, eyestays, and heel, with midnight navy shades landing on the toebox, quarter panel, and collar. Tonal shades of midnight navy continue on the laces and tongue, with the tag above getting a sun-like yellow and orange finish. Along the midfoot, a white Swoosh runs back to the Nike-branded heel tab and passes by a sun graphic on the lateral heel overlay. If you do happen to step outside (or shine a UV light), the Swoosh will change from white to a deep yellow/orange hue resembling the color of the sun. Vibrant yellows also find a home on the insole, while the design comes rounded out by a white midsole and midnight navy rubber outsole. Also included in the packaging is a “dust bag” crafted from metallic foil.
The Nike Dunk Low UV Light GS will be released on July 20, 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Releasing in gradeschool and preschool sizing, the retail price is set at $95 and $75, respectively.
