As the Spring of 2024 approaches, Nike's commitment to celebrating Chinese New Year remains as robust as ever, especially with the unveiling of a kids' exclusive Nike Dunk Low. This release joins an esteemed festive footwear lineup, including anticipated models like the Jordan 1 Low, Air Force 1, KD 4, and Nike Ja 1. The Year Of The Dragon theme pays homage to one of the most revered zodiac signs in Chinese culture. Nike encapsulates this significance within a kids' silhouette, offering a playful yet respectful nod to tradition.
This special edition of the Nike Dunk Low is meticulously designed with an appreciation for cultural storytelling. The leather upper balances a subdued palette of grey and white, while vibrant red accents on the sockliner and heel tab inject a celebratory spirit. The sneaker's standout feature is the lateral Swoosh, executed in black Velcro and adorned with a dragon design that overlaps with the Nike logo, symbolizing strength and good fortune. In contrast, the medial side keeps it classic with a traditional grey leather Swoosh. A clean white midsole is paired with a black outsole, maintaining the Dunk Low's iconic design language.
The Nike Dunk Low Year Of The Dragon GS will release on January 2, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Designed exclusively for kids, this celebratory sneaker is priced at $100.
