Each year, Nike releases a new collection of footwear celebrating the Chinese New Year, ranging from classics like the Dunk Low and AF1 to Jordan retros. So far, we have already seen an Air Force 1 Low that will pay homage to the Year of the Snake, but now images of a Dunk Low that retains similar themes to the aforementioned AF1 have emerged.
Featuring a mixture of smooth leather on the upper, we see an emerald green hue on the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay. Below this sits a white leather, featured on the toebox, midfoot, and collar. Moving towards the tongue, we see a cream lace set and a custom Chinese New Year-themed Nike tongue tag that features the iconic tagline Just Do It alongside snake details. More nods to the Year of the Snake are found on the red stitching details along the grey Swoosh and on the custom insoles featuring the same graphics as the tongue tag. A quilted copper sockliner finishes the upper’s design, while a white rubber midsole and gum outsole complete the look. The packaging includes a good luck rope knot, a common sight during the Chinese New Year.
The Nike Dunk Low Year of the Snake GS will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available exclusively in gradeschool sizing, the retail price is $100.
