Some of Nike's most experimental designs have emerged from the brand's ISPA division, which focuses on creating footwear and apparel that serve a greater purpose beyond aesthetics. With a keen eye on sustainability, Nike ISPA crafted the ISPA Link Axis, a fully deconstructable sneaker made almost entirely from recycled materials. Following the OG Total Orange Sonic Yellow colorway and the vibrant Multi-Color rendition, Nike ISPA introduces a stealthy Black Anthracite version set to release this May.
The Nike ISPA Link Axis Black Anthracite features a pod-like structure covered with 100% recycled Flyknit materials, taking on a sleek black finish. This innovative design ensures maximum sustainability without compromising on style. ISPA branding is strategically placed on the lacing setup, which weaves through 100% recycled TPU panels near the toe and midfoot, adding functionality and a unique visual element. Underfoot, the sneaker is equipped with a podular midsole with a clear finish and is designed to be removable and recyclable. This forward-thinking design allows wearers to recycle the midsole once the pair has reached the end of its life cycle. Nike aims to offer replacement midsoles made from leftover and recycled products, further promoting a circular economy and reducing environmental impact.
The Nike ISPA Link Axis Black Anthracite will release on May 23, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $300.
