While Ja Morant's unfortunate early exit from the NBA season due to shoulder surgery has affected his team’s performance, his signature sneaker line with Nike persists in capturing the imagination of fans and sneakerheads. Since leaving the team in early January, we’ve seen multiple colorways of his Nike Ja 1 release, including the Murray State, All-Star Check, and Red Stardust. Now, a new Day colorway that continues the mismatched vibes found on the Hunger colorway has appeared.
The Day edition of the Nike Ja 1 splits its personality between vapor green on the left shoe and a bright mandarin on the right shoe. Composed of mesh, canvas, TPU, and ripstop materials, each shoe within the pair showcases a tonal base. Splatter patterns on the forefoot reinforcements are a subtle but impactful design choice that adds depth and texture.
The greyish-blue hues of the Swoosh and heel tab offer a calm contrast to the otherwise loud exterior, embodying the serene moments amidst the chaos of professional sports. Branding details, including split colors on the Ja logo atop the tongue and Ja Morant's signature TMT on the lateral heel, further personalize the sneaker. The design is completed with a tonal midsole and outsole, ensuring the sneaker's performance matches its visual appeal.
The Nike Ja 1 Day will release on April 19, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and grade school sizes, the sneaker is priced at $120 and $92, respectively.
