As the NBA 2023-2024 season progresses without Ja Morant, sidelined due to shoulder surgery, his signature sneaker line doesn't miss a beat. The Nike Ja 1, a symbol of Morant's explosive playstyle and undeniable impact on the court, welcomes a new colorway into its ranks this spring. Following up on the Red Stardust and All-Star pairs, the Ja 1 has emerged in a colorway inspired by his alma mater, Murray State.
The Nike Ja 1 Murray State features a dominant midnight navy color scheme that blankets the mesh base and leather overlays, infusing the sneaker with a deep, versatile aesthetic suitable for the hardwood and the streets. The design is punctuated by vibrant laser orange accents, strategically placed on the lace aglets, Swoosh, and TMT branding on the heel, offering a striking contrast that captures the eye. A ripstop nylon section in a subtle football grey sits back on the heel. A midnight navy, light laser orange midsole, and a football grey outsole complement this.
The Nike Ja 1 Murray State released on February 8, 2024, via Foot Locker while a wider release via Nike will take place on March 10. Available in men’s sizing, the pair will retail for $120.
