Hopefully, Ja Morant’s upcoming NBA season will last longer than his 2023-2024 campaign, as he suffered an injury in January that ended his season early. Nike also hopes this will be the case as they’ve just introduced Morant’s second signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 2, and would like to have him showcase his abilities in this new model. So far, we’ve seen multiple thematic releases for the Ja 2, from the Christmas-ready X-Mas Tree Topper to the Halloween-inspired Nightmare colorway. Early images of a Ja 2 built for Valentine’s Day 2025 have appeared online.
Inspired by Valentine’s Day-colored M&M’s, the sneaker comes with a deep, vibrant pink hue on the front half of the sneaker, with white and pink details on the back portion. The upper is coated in red hues, as mesh lands along the toe, while leather overlays wrap around the mudguard and the lower portion of the eyestays. The logo atop the tongue and the sockliner come in black. Cutting across the midfoot is a black TPU Swoosh, surrounded by a white base with pink heart graphics near the collar and heel. Halfway across the midfoot, the synthetic TPU panel comes in the same red as the front part of the model. Though not pictured here, the insole is likely getting a custom makeover, and we may even see an additional hang tag to represent this love-filled holiday. Rounding out the design is the two-tone white and red foam midsole paired with a tonal rubber outsole.
The Nike Ja 2 Heart Eyes will release on February 7, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s, gradeschool, and preschool sizing, the retail price is set at $130, $105, and $90, respectively.
