Even at 25, Ja Morant is already empowering the generation of ball players that will follow him through his AAU team Twelve Time, which hosts a team of 6th and 7th graders in South Carolina that includes Derrick Rose’s son PJ. To honor the fledgling program, Nike is giving the AAU squad its colorway of Morant’s latest signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 2.
A lime green color palette is applied to most of the upper, with orange and olive accents seen throughout. Suede panels surrounding the lime green mesh toebox and tongue also take on this vibrant shade, while the mesh on the medial side and the synthetic panel on the lateral continue the look. Breaking up the monochromatic color scheme is a black and orange Swoosh on the midfoot, reaching back to the quilted olive suede heel counter that contains 12:12 branding, a play on the usual 12:AM text found here. A logo for the AAU team is found on the tongue tag of the left shoe, while the right comes with a Ja Nike logo “breaking through” the material. Underfoot sits a lime green and olive foam midsole featuring Zoom Air in the forefoot paired with an orange and lime green outsole.
The Nike Ja 2 Twelve Time will release in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s, GS, and PS sizing, the retail price is $120, $97, and $82, respectively.
