Kobe Bryant’s Nike signature sneakers have been more sought after since his contract came to an end in 2021. It's been almost a year since the last Nike Kobe sneaker was released, and coming across a pair has been tough, especially for NBA players and those with big feet. Thankfully, the coveted Nike Kobe 6 will finally make a return now that Vanessa Bryant and the Kobe estate were able to agree to new terms on a contract in March. With that, the Nike Kobe line will continue in the future, kicking things off with the Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” edition.
Coming in black, white, and metallic gold, the Kobe 6 Protro “Mambacita Sweet 16” edition was designed by Vanessa Bryant, in honor of her late husband Kobe, and daughter, Gigi. The sneaker features a black-based polyurethane "island” upper, mimicking snakeskin. White accents throughout are finished off by gold branding via the “2” on the heel and “Kobe” and “Gigi” on the back heel. Custom “Mambacita” logos also on the back heels as well as the insoles finishes things off.
The Nike Kobe 6 Protro Mambacita Sweet 16 is set to release on May 1st, 2022. It will be available via Nike SNKRS exclusive access as well as SNKRS Pass Members in the greater Los Angeles area starting on April 29th, 2022. Coming in men’s sizing, retail is set at $180.
