The Nike Kobe line has been scarce since Vanessa Bryant re-signed with Nike. With the Mambacita and Halo lines set to release annually, various other colorways will drop in between. 2024 is already looking stacked with the newest additions to those collections. The return of the Kobe 4 Protro Philly and Olympic, the Kobe 6 Protro Italian Camo, and the Kobe 8 Protro Venice Beach are also heavy hitters. As we enter the third quarter of the year, Fall 2024, Nike Basketball unleashes five Nike Kobe 8 Protro colorways!
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro MA (Mambacita Academy) Pack includes two Laker-themed iterations and three basic colorways. The Lakers-themed pairs come in both Home and Away Iterations, with the Home-based pair white with purple and gold accents. Its Away counterpart comes dressed in black, with gold, purple, and white accents.
Alongside these two pairs will be Wolf Grey, University Red, and College Navy iterations. These three pairs will feature a solid base color highlighted by white detailing. As these are all Protro editions, a drop-in React cushioned midsole replaces classic Lunarlon for a modern-day upgrade.
The Nike Kobe 8 Protro Mambacita Academy Pack was originally released on September 6, 2024. A restock is set for October 1 through Nike, SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store. All five pairs will be available in men's sizing for $180. The Lakers Away edition will also be available in grade school and preschool sizing for $120 and $90.
