Nike Officially Unveils N7 Summer 2022 Collection

The Nike N7 series was initially launched in 2009 as an annual collection to help raise money towards funding sports programs for Indigenous peoples. It was designed for and by the Indigenous community. This summer's collection features a lineup of apparel and footwear with taping details and colors that pay homage to Indigenous women’s ribbon skirts and traditional weaving techniques of the tribes from the northern territories.

N7 is Nike’s call out to the Seventh Generation Principle. Philosophy of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois), the Seventh Generation Principle states that the decisions we make today should result in a sustainable world seven generations into the future. So, it should come as no surprise that the footwear features the Moc silhouette, Kyrie Low 5, and an Air Max 95. The Moc this time around features Free Crater Trail tooling, a fusion of sustainable foam technology, the comfort of the Free midsole/outsole, and the rugged durability of the Trail outsole. The tan upper is splattered with brown detailing throughout, a coloring and pattern that is also seen on the upper of the Air Max 95 and the midsole of the Kyrie Low 5. The ribbons that make up the lacing structure of the Moc follow the same color motif as the apparel, using ribbons of different green shades, peach, orange, and yellow to accent the earth-toned upper. Similar ribbon detailing can be seen on the Air Max 95, while the Kyrie Low 5 features accents of those colors throughout the shoe via the branding accents and laces.
