A sneaker that seamlessly blends heritage and trend, the Nike P-6000, has been making a triumphant return. First introduced in 2019, the silhouette disappeared from the limelight only to be passionately revived as mesh runners became trendy. For its latest rendition, Nike is dressing the P-6000 in a clean "Khaki Light Bone" combo and adding Korean graphics. This isn't the only Nike sneaker nodding to the Korean peninsula as the Air Max 1 '86 OG "World Made" and Nike Cortez Premium have also featured references to the nation.
The upcoming “Hangul Day” edition of the Nike P-6000 showcases a photon dust mesh base layered with khaki nubuck and suede on the mudguard and tongue tag. Light Bone leather overlays stride along the midfoot, wrapping back to the heel. Adding to the aesthetics is the heel tab, featuring Nike spelled in Korean on the left sneaker and a custom Nike graphic with the year 1972, commemorating the brand's founding year, on the right. The same graphics also adorn the insole. Completing the look is a foam midsole in khaki and cream, complemented by a durable black rubber outsole.
The Nike P-6000 Premium Hangul Day will release on October 6, 2023 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
