The Nike Air Pegasus is the longest-reigning sneaker in Nike's vast history. Initially debuting in 1983, the Air Pegasus has been released annually over the past 40+ years, with the 41st iteration on the way. Looking deeper into the future, Nike has upgraded the Zoom Pegasus Turbo with all-new tech. Debuting in Spring 2025 is the Nike Pegasus Premium.
The Nike Pegasus Premium combines everything you love about the Air Pegasus with cutting-edge technology. The upper is comprised of circular knit, providing a breathable, lightweight design. While the look of the upper is unique, it's all about the tech with the Pegasus Premium. The sneaker is contoured to the natural profile of the foot, complete with Nike's first-ever sculpted Zoom Air unit to power you through the heel-to-toe transition. The result provides a spring, smooth sensation that is new to Zoom Air cushioning.
Kathy Gomez, Nike VP NXT Footwear, states:
"Air is Nike's separator in the footwear industry — no one can create cushioning innovations like we can," says Gomez. "In running, when we combine Air with components like midfoot plates and with platforms like our proprietary foams, we create superior systems for performance. For the Peg Premium, we wanted runners to get the most energy return possible out of the sculpted Air Zoom unit. Not only does it double as a spring-like mechanism, the Air unit is also designed to engage with the entirety of your foot, no matter your gait pattern or stride length."
As we dive deeper into the Nike Pegasus Premium, ZoomX foam is in the midsole, while ReactX foam sits underneath on the heel. Together, these foams create a new cushioning system, which returns more energy to the runner than any other Pegasus model. A solid rubber outsole completes the design.
The Nike Pegasus Premium Airscape will release in Spring 2025. They will be available via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, retail is TBD.
