Looking at the roster of NBA athletes that fall under the Nike umbrella, only a handful have their own signature silhouette with the Oregon-based sportswear giant. Recently suspending their contract with Kyrie Irving just last week, The Swoosh luckily still has players like Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Paul George to get fans ready for their own on-court action. For the latter of the three players, Nike has dressed George’s Nike PG 6 in a “What The?”-esque colorway being dubbed “Greatest Hits.”
Across the upper, a collage of materials and colors takes over the mid-top performance basketball model with metallic silver visible on the toe cap and a mismatched side panel with the right side coming in white and the left getting a colorful makeover. On the right shoe sits a weatherman-like collage of colors while the left sneaker gets an all-over orange makeover while the tongue for each pair gets covered in yellow. More mismatched colors come in the form of the branding details on the tongue as well as the two leather eyestays that flip back and forth on each respective pair. Atop the tongue, a fruit and veggie graphic takes over while the sockliner and heel overlays continue this “What The?” colorblocking. Nike Swoosh details sit atop multi-color graphics with the right pair featuring various Playstation buttons atop its blue leather while the left comes with colorful faux animal prints. Underfoot, both pairs feature a white foam midsole with the right getting red splatter details throughout while the entire design is rounded out by a semi-translucent clear rubber outsole.
