The WNBA season has been a rollercoaster of breathtaking moments, with Sabrina Ionescu at the center of the spectacle. Representing the New York Liberty, she's setting her sights on the WNBA Finals, going head-to-head with the Las Vegas Aces. Beyond her exceptional skills on the court, Ionescu has been turning heads with her debut signature shoe with Nike, the Sabrina 1. With a growing popularity among athletes and sneakerheads alike, this shoe has been a testament to Ionescu's growing influence in basketball. And just in time for the final showdown, a fresh colorway named "Grounded" is all set to drop and will follow up on the Bonded pair.
The Nike Sabrina 1 in the Grounded colorway embodies sophistication with a fusion of function and aesthetics. The upper is meticulously crafted using a blend of engineered mesh, textile, ripstop, and plush suede, delivering an impeccable finish. Adorned in light bone hues, the shoe's white details accentuate the textile zones around the toe and eyestays. The semi-translucent ripstop layer is intriguing, revealing subtle laser orange undertones and elegantly showcasing a greyish-blue outlined Nike Swoosh. Subtle branding is evident with the distinct “S” logo on the tongue and a vertical Swoosh on the inner side. Ionescu’s identity is stamped at the heel with an “I” overlay, reaffirming her mark on the silhouette. The shoe’s functional aspect shines with a coconut milk foam midsole integrated with Nike's React technology, complemented by Zoom Air in the forefoot and a supportive shank in the midfoot. This design is rounded off with a durable greyish-blue rubber outsole, ensuring grip and stability on the court.
The Nike Sabrina 1 Grounded W will release October 19, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in extended women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
