Sabrina Ionescu and her New York Liberty are gearing up for a WNBA Finals battle against the Lynx. Her second signature sneaker with Nike, the Nike Sabrina 2, has been on Ionescu's feet this season. Sabrina's Romanian heritage inspires design details for both of her sneakers. Now, a new Sabrina 2 colorway, one Sole Retriever spotted on her feet during a practice session, is inspired by a gift her mother brought her from her home country.
Dubbed the Nike Sabrina 2 Stronger Than Gold, the pair is directly inspired by a bracelet Sabrina cherishes, one that her mom brought back from Romania for her, with the title referencing the bond between Sabrina and her family. Across the upper, we see a khaki and rattan color palette, with engineered mesh acting as the base. A large S-shaped overlay on the midfoot takes on a tonal finish with sail textile piping the edge. Golden hues, obvious nods to the golden bracelet, are found via the custom lace dubrae, the Swoosh logos on the midfoot, and the Sabrina S logo on the tongue. Towards the collar, mini S logos are embroidered in a contrasting hue. Below, the foam midsole comes in a sail and golden hue paired with a golden rubber outsole.
The Nike Sabrina 2 Stronger Than Gold W will release on March 6, 2025, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
