When Nike SB chooses its collaborators, they often find those heavily involved within the skate scene, as is the case with Nasty Neckface. Hailing from Stockton, California, he was able to get his start at 18 within both art galleries and the skate world, working with Baker Skateboards after designing boards for Mark Gonzalez. Throughout the years he has teamed up with famed skate brands such as Vans, Stüssy, and Nike SB on a pair of Blazer and Dunk Highs. An elusive Nike SB Dunk Low collab would have to wait until this year, with images recently emerging.
The upper comes to us fully covered in a blacked out suede with artwork by Neckface featured on various patches throughout, taking on an asymmetrical design. Haunting images of demons, skulls, graves, and more spooky imagery really sell both the skating and Halloween vibes the sneaker is trying to portray. Swooshes on the midfoot are swapped out in favor of the aforementioned patches, instead the Swoosh makes an appearance on the collar.
On the tongue, “Face SB” branding replaces the usual Nike SB tag while the heels embroidered “Nike” text remains. An insole featuring flame graphics in orange and “Neckface” written in purple graffiti-style text alongside Nike SB branding finishes off the upper. Rounding everything out is the almost all-white midsole with black stitching and a lightning graphic in black along the heel paired, to a black rubber outsole.
The Neckface x Nike SB Dunk Low is set to release on October 27th, 2022, via Nike SB skateshops and possibly online through Nike.com and select retailers.
