Nike’s Blazer is probably the second most recognizable silhouette adopted by the skateboarding community, after the Dunk of course. Nike SB has long employed the Blazer, and recently dropped two patchwork SB Zoom Blazer Mid Premiums in June, one dressed in grey, and the other in red and navy. This iteration takes on a bruised colorway, utilizing shades of black and blue while leaving room for some white branding hits. The medial quarter cuts out the swoosh and replaces it with a textile patch and stitched outline in black and blue.
A multitude of materials can be found on the upper of this Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Premium. Pebbled leather drapes the quarter in midnight navy, while lending its texture to the black swoosh jutting through the middle. Smooth black suede covers the toe, and transitions to perforation as it reaches the Swoosh. Harshly cut grid textile shows up on the eyestay and tongue, creating a juxtaposition between itself and the materials used on the rest of the upper. Mini white Swooshes appear on the lateral quarter ankle, and medial heel for a deviation from the darker leather beneath it. More white contrast can be found on the back heel counter, where bold block letters spell out “NIKE”. Other details include a logo stitched on top of the tongue tag, and exposed black foam tongue padding. The Blazer’s signature textured midsole is done up in black, with one last spark of contrast found in white speckles on a black outsole
