The $90 Nike V5 RNR Debuts Spring 2025
PublishedGone are the days of (most) $200-plus sneakers selling out instantly across the board, as consumers have become more conscious of their spending, especially in the world of sneakers. Some of the hottest silhouettes offered today are not retro Jordans or high-priced collaborative sneakers but budget-friendly and comfort-focused models from brands like Asics, Saucony, and New Balance. To compete with the Asics Gel-1130, New Balance 530, and New Balance 740, Nike is introducing a budget-friendly $90 mesh runner, the Nike V5 RNR, in 2025.
The silhouette seems to draw cuts from the aforementioned competitor's sneakers, which utilize a design language prevalent in performance runners from Y2K and the early 2010s. Multi-layered leather and synthetic paneling with wide-spaced mesh panels in between aid the V5 RNR in its mission to achieve this look. So far, images of the White Malachite, Parachute Beige Metallic Pewter, and Black Anthracite colorways have appeared, with the former two featuring metallic silver overlays that add to the model's Y2K appearance.
Branding details are typical of a Nike running silhouette, with a Swoosh on the midfoot, embroidered Nike text on the tongue tag, and a mini embroidered Swoosh on the heel tab. Underfoot, the model features a foam midsole with a reinforcement near the midfoot and a rubber outsole.
The Nike V5 RNR will debut in Spring 2025 in multiple colorways, including the three pairs mentioned above, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $90. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest releases, raffles, news, and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
