Mesh runners have reigned supreme in the eyes of sneakerheads throughout 2024. Nike has held a strong position in the category with the Vomero 5 silhouette, prepping the model in various colors for the new year. Joining pairs like the Particle Beige Terra Blush, Vast Grey Taupe Grey, and Elemental Pink Desert Berry is the new Dark Smoke Grey color scheme.
This Vomero 5 sees material changes compared to your average release. On the base layer sits a heavy-duty canvas in a dark grey shade, matching the TPU midfoot cage and TPU heel counter in color. Another dark grey hit comes along the collar and heel tab, constructed of leather. Smooth leather along the mudguard, surrounding the midfoot cage, and on the heel come in a light grey that contrasts the darker hues of the base. Suede paneling is on the toebox overlays and vamp, resting below the tonal lace set and tongue. Providing a break from the greyscale color palette is the sockliner, coming in a vachetta tan suede finish. Below sits a Zoom Air and Cushlon-cushioned foam midsole in grey hues paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Dark Smoke Grey releases in Spring 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is $170.
