Vomero 5 hype is still considerably high, even with Nike pumping out colorway after colorway in the last year, as the mesh runner trend has no end. Nike’s strategy isn’t changing much regarding the Vomero as we enter the new year, with previews of colors like the Chrome Toe, Dark Team Red, and Vast Grey Blue Void hitting the net in recent weeks. Nike’s tapping into Barbiecore with the all-new Elemental Pink Desert Berry colorway.
Tonal pink shades cover most of the silhouette, contrasted and grounded via the neutral hues of sail and metallic platinum. On the base, we see a two-layer mesh, the bottom coming in pink and the more open-spaced woven mesh in sail. Synthetic leather overlays on the mudguard, toebox, vamp, and eyestays take on a lighter pink hue than the shade found on the midfoot TPU cage and Swoosh. More of this light pink shade comes placed on the lateral heel overlay, matching the TPU heel counter. Reflective elements are added along the mudguard's midfoot panel, tongue, and heel overlay portions. Below this sits a Zoom Air and Cushlon-laden midsole featuring two shades of pink and hits of sail paired with a tonal rubber outsole.
