So far, in 2024, Nike has prepped a wide range of sneakers for Halloween celebrations. Outside of the multiple Nike Basketball sneakers, including the Ja 2, Book 1, Giannis Freak 6, and Kobe 5, lifestyle models like the Dunk and AF1 get spooky themes applied. Now, the kids are getting an exclusive Vomero 5 inspired by spiders.
A haunting black and white color palette is present, with the materials of this Vomero getting updated to reflect the spooky spider theme. A spider web-like pattern is applied to the mudguard and Swoosh, while the suede portions near the vamp and eyelet come hairy and disorganized, with the vamp also containing the overt reference to a spider. Here, we see iridescent charms on the bottom of the laces, resembling spider eyes when paired with the spider fang overlays on the toebox. Toning things down, we see grey mesh on the base, black and grey overlays on the toe and midfoot, and black TPU applied to the midfoot cage and heel counter. Another feature that evokes the Halloween spirit is the glow-in-the-dark details on the midfoot overlays, tongue tag, and parts of the foam midsole. Rounding out the design is the clear rubber outsole.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Spider GS will release in October 8, 2024, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $110.
