After Virgil Abloh’s untimely passing, the legendary designer's partnership with Nike through his Off-White label was up in the air as fans speculated about what would become of one of the hottest collabs in sneaker history. Luckily the duo had quite a few silhouettes and colorways in the pipeline, as seen with the previously released AF1 Mids and Blazer Lows. On top of the "Pine Green" pair, another colorway of the Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid has surfaced, this time in "Graffiti" style.
Borrowing a similar graffiti style as seen on the Louis Vuitton x Nike AF1 collab that Virgil had his hands on, the sneaker features an all-white leather upper with a multi-color graffiti landing along the lateral midfoot. The same design motifs seen on all OW collaborations and on other AF1 Mids remain, as extra eyestays are added around the upper to host a secondary set of laces, Helvetica text is present on the medial side, and the infamous zip-tie appears in a clear shade. White-on-white works up the laces, tongue, and lockdown strap on the collar, though a pop of purple comes via the graffiti-style “AIR” text atop the tongue. As previously mentioned, the midfoot with its translucent Nike Swoosh gets dressed in a purple graffiti graphic, featuring “Off-White” text as well as the earth held by two hands. Underfoot, the midsole gets a wavy redesign near the heel, exposing the Air unit within. Rounding out the design is the spiked rubber outsole, keeping things all white.
The Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 Mid Graffiti White has seen a small release at the Off-White Miami store on May 4 while a drop through the Off-White Paris store will take place on June 21. Off-White's website released the pair on June 22. A wider release is set for later in the year.
