Puma is again sailing the high seas of collaboration with the iconic anime series One Piece, launching a new collection in 2024. The brand previously ventured into the Grand Line in 2019 with a series of sneakers honoring characters and themes from the show. As we look forward to the next chapter in this collaboration, Puma plans to release a series of Puma Suede colorways, each drawing inspiration from one of the four Pirate Emperors of One Piece: Blackbeard (AKA Marshall D. Teach), Shanks, Fifth Gear Luffy, and Buggy.
One Piece x Puma Suede Blackbeard
The One Piece x Puma Suede features a black and gold colorway as a nod to emperor Blackbeard's coat. The Black Beard Pirates' three headed skull Jolly Roger adorns the sneaker's tongue tag. Adding some extra detail, chenille-like cloud cutouts adorn the side of the sneaker, referencing Blackbeard's dark powers.
One Piece x Puma Suede Shanks
Another standout is the all-suede burgundy sneaker in the collection that honors Emperor Shanks. Shanks' iconic three scars appear on the sneaker's heel. As the leader of the Red Hair Pirates, it's only appropriate that the two sworded skull Jolly Roger that they fly appears on the sneaker's tongue.
One Piece x Puma Suede Gear 5 Luffy
In Emperor Luffy's Fifth Gear, he has white hair. The white rendition of the One Piece x Puma Suede collection highlights Luffy's Fifth Gear. Luffy is often depicted in this awakened form with clouds floating around him. The cloud strip that adorns the sneaker is a clear nod to the clouds that Fifth Gear Luffy brings with him. Putting the finishing touches on the sneaker, Luffy's Fifth Gear symbol is embossed into the sneaker's suede tongue.
One Piece x Puma Suede Buggy
The last pair of the Puma x One Piece collab pays homage to Buggy. The sneaker is covered in premium red suede. An ultra-blue stripe extends from the middle to the heel, symbolizing Emperor Buggy's wild blue hair. Capping things off, Buggy's Star Clown Jolly Roger adorns the tongue tag.
One Piece x Puma Release Date
The One Piece x Puma Collection was originally released on March 23, 2024, exclusively via the Puma Mobile App. A restock is set for November 30, 2024, via Puma and select retailers in-store and online. Coming in full-family sizing, the retail price for adult pairs is $85.
