Drawing inspiration from two distinct cultures, Brazilin streetwear brand Pace and Asics Sportstyle have come together, marrying their ethos into an alluring sneaker collaboration. Pace's reverence for the connection between Japan and Brazil shines through, and the choice of the Gel-Quantum 360 VII for this collaboration appears strategic.
Felipe Matayoshi, the genius behind Pace, shared his vision for collaborating with Hypebeast. His intention: crafting a sneaker that serves as an emblem of Pace's five-year journey while blending seamlessly into everyday wear.
At the core of this design lies a creamy upper, elegantly interrupted by hints of grey across the ripstop grid pattern. Leather embellishments, sweeping across the mudguard, eyestays, and even the Asics logo, carry the same soft cream hue, lending the shoe a harmonious aesthetic. Contrasting this is the two-toned black and grey lace set, which journeys up to the heel. A subtle nod to their roots, Pace's signature is tastefully imprinted on the toe cap and midfoot. However, the creamy, Gel-cushioned midsole, enveloped by semi-transparent clear rubber, truly completes the sneaker, culminating in a solid cream outsole that adds the final touch.
The Pace x Asics Gel-Quantum 360 VII Brism will initially drop on September 29, 2023, exclusively via Pace and then see a global release on September 30, 2023, through Asics and select retailers both online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $220.
