Over at adidas, sustainability and the health of the global ecosystem have remained a top priority as plenty of sneaker releases contain some form of renewable or recycled material. One of the partners for The Three Stripes in these efforts has been Parley for the Oceans, an organization dedicated to cleaning up ocean plastics and turning them into materials than can be utilized to lessen CO2 emissions that accumulate through the production of new plastics. Adding another silhouette to the release calendar with recycled materials, Parley helps construct the upcoming adidas 4DFWD Pack.
Coming in “White” and “Black,” each silhouette comes constructed out of at least 50% Parley Ocean Plastic and 50% recycled polyester for the Primeknit and features one of The Three Stripes’ most innovative cushioning systems - 4D. Embrodieredy around the upper creates depth to the simple one-piece upper and draws some comparisons to the Air Max 97 with its wavy pattern while TPU and knit along the lateral side provide reinforcement for the side of your foot. Tonal laces work up toward the co-branded adidas and Parley pull tab and run through embroidered eyelets around the softer tongue portion of the knit. Underfoot sits a 4DFWD midsole that reduces impact for a smooth ride and comes paired with a Continental Rubber outsole.
The Parley x adidas 4DFWD Pack is set to release on February 1st, 2023 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $220.
